Lightcliffe CofE Primary School Ofsted

We are delighted to share that following its April 2026 Ofsted inspection, Lightcliffe CofE Primary School has been judged to be Expected Standard in all areas.

Under the new Ofsted inspection framework, schools are judged across several key areas, and Expected Standard is a high, secure standard where the school is doing everything it should to give children what they need to flourish.

The report highlights Lightcliffe Primary as a school where “pupils feel safe and enjoy school” and where children arrive… to a calm, cheerful and welcoming environment.” Inspectors recognised the strong culture across the school, noting that pupils are courteous, polite, respectful and curious” and that behaviour is positive”, contributing to a consistently calm atmosphere.

A key strength identified by Ofsted is the school’s carefully-designed” curriculum, which enables pupils to “talk enthusiastically about their learning and recall key facts.” This reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to ensuring every child develops the knowledge, confidence and curiosity to succeed.
