David Ryder

David has worked within the Trust for 17 years. Originally as an IT technician at Abbey Grange CofE Academy, David became Head of IT Services for the trust at its conception. He led on IT for several years and is proud to have developed an effective service to support the Trusts academies.

In September 2020, David adopted the Trust’s ‘Facilities and Estates’ service, taking on his current role of ‘Head of IT and Infrastructure’.  Within this role, David is a strategic member of the multi academy Trust’s Central Support Team; responsible for development and monitoring of IT/Facilities and Estates support services.

He is passionate about ensuring our staff and students have a safe and welcoming working environment with access to high quality technology.

In 2021, David led the trust in an application of over £5million in grant funding for decarbonisation works and co-ordinated the resulting projects. He is a fundamental part of the trusts Sustainability team, focussing on the control and monitoring of the utilities infrastructure.

He has undertaken IT consultancy work in multiple academies, external to the trust, sharing best practices and assisting them in improving their IT systems.

David is passionate about maintaining Abbey Multi Academy Trust’s Christian ethos throughout the support delivered in IT and Estates services, encouraging teams to help all staff and students equally.
